My-choice is a consortium of organisations who work in Trafford providing Personal Budget Services, all the organisations work to shared principles and values.

This launch event a fantastic opportunity for individuals to come along and find out about personal budgets and browse the my-choice market place. View organisations that can provide independent living support through a personal budget or self funding. The launch will consist of stands, guest speakers, demonstrations, music and a buffet.

Who Cares? Supporting Children and Young People Through Changes in Healthcare

This one-day conference which is open to all will provide the opportunity for professionals working within children’s services, together with parents and other interested members of the general public, to hear from a range of speakers on current key issues for children’s healthcare.

Review of Trafford CYPS Emotional Health and Wellbeing Services

The Centre of Public Innovation (www.publicinnovation.org.uk) has been commissioned to undertake a review of all Emotional Health and Wellbeing provision in Trafford with a particular focus on Tier 1 (Universal) and Tier 2 (Targeted) services that are outside of clinical services. The review aims to provide a solid and robust evidence base for future commissioning and redesign of emotional health and wellbeing services for children and young people in Trafford.

‘The Professionals’ Unleash their Skills

New volunteering initiative will strengthen community groups and boost local services

CSV (www.csv.org.uk) has launched ‘The Professionals’, an opportunity for 9,000 professionals and recently retired professionals to invest their skills to benefit their communities.

Beneficiaries could include local organisations like playgroups needing advice on how to recruit volunteers safely, local clubs needing to refurbish their buildings, or neighbours banding together to deliver services to vulnerable people or challenge threats to their community.

EDF Energy Green Fund
The Green Fund awards grants to organisations who apply for funds to help cover the cost of renewable energy technology that can be used to produce green energy from the sun, wind, water, wood and other renewable sources. Deadline 31 August.

Volunteer Befriending Scheme- Hulme & Moss Side

 People First Housing Association have recieved a Mental Health and Wellbeing Grant from the Directorate of Adults and Wellbeing in Manchester.

With this grant they will be setting up a Volunteer Befriending Scheme to provide support to those aged 55+ in Hulme and Moss Side. They are recruiting volunteers to deliver befriending and social activities, as well as opportunities for community fundraising, business development and administration. Volunteers will choose how much time they want to give – from a couple of hours a week to a couple of days, all are welcome!

A New Health Deal for Trafford- Public Consultation now Live

The public consultation to gather views on a proposal to redesign services at Trafford General Hospital has launched.

Visit the new health deal website  to download copies of the full and summary consultation documents or respond to the consultation online. You have until 5pm on Wednesday 31 October to share your views.
