Trafford 50+ Voice Network gives people aged 50+ the opportunity to find out about, discuss and influence local issues by meeting directly with people from Trafford Council, local NHS and other statutory and community service providers.
Areas of Interest
There are many areas of interest, for example:
Out and about (transport, pavements etc)
Safer Trafford (reducing the fear of crime)
Maximising income (benefit take up)
Learning, leisure and sport
Housing (extra care assistive technology)
Health and social care
Participation
Be involved as much, or as little, as you like:
Main meetings approx every 2 months, with relevant guest speakers and discussion groups and FREE light lunch. (Meetings days and locations vary.)
Occasional smaller focus groups in between.
FREE newsletter every few months.
Care Vouchers available and travel / parking costs reimbursed for attendance at meetings.

Future Voice Network Meetings
Living Well - Wednesday 6th October 10.30-12.30, followed by light lunch.
St Matthews Hall, Chapel Lane, Stretford M32 8HF. (Near Stretford Mall).
Trafford Primary Care Trust are working on the Falls Prevention Strategy and would like to inform the Network how they are responding to your priorities. They would like to work with you to gain input that will influence the final content of the action plan and service specification. This will be followed by a Healthy Hips and Hearts exercise taster session.
Bus routes 15, 16,18, 22, 23, 253, 255, 256, 263, 264, 268, 272,276, 277, 278, 297. There is a small free car park next to the church hall and there is a large pay and display car park at Stretford Mall .
Personal Budgets - Monday 1st November, The Chambers, Sale Waterside, M33 7ZF
12-2.30 commencing with light lunch.
Adult Social Services have a new approach to care and supporting independence. They support people to assess their needs and then identify how much individuals can take as a personal budget [if they want to]. This can be used on existing services or on new ideas.
Jeremy Kay, Finance Manager from Trafford Adult Social Services plays a key role in making sure resources will be fairly distributed and at the meeting he will explain how the money allocated to personal budgets is calculated, how Social Services will monitor ways in which the personal budget is spent and how the individual and carers can get help with managing a personal budget..

Meeting rooms above are wheelchair accessible and servied by a room hearing loop and an additional table top hearing loop for group work.
