Bid Success for Trafford Partners!
Voluntary & Community Action Trafford (VCAT) are delighted to announce that our application to the government’s Transforming Local Infrastructure Fund has been successful. Throughout Autumn 2011 VCAT worked with local partners to develop proposals to improve the way that we work collectively to support and develop local voluntary & community groups and social enterprises.
Our proposals focussed around the theme of ‘Releasing the Potential’, these included plans to:
- Establish a ‘Chamber ‘for the sector
- Developing a local kite mark to support funding bids and consortium applications
- Developing new approaches to commissioning
- Linking up with businesses to support local groups
- Supporting small groups
- Improving volunteering
Ralph Rudden, Chair of VCAT said “This is great news for voluntary and community groups and social enterprises across Trafford. The partners involved are committed to working to improve the way we work together to support local groups – from working with volunteers, increasing and improving the services delivered by local groups and working with business to provide support to local groups”.
The project will go live in April 2012 and will run for at least 18 months. More information will be made available via the VCAT website www.vcatrafford.org , newsletter and bulletins over the next few months.
