Parent Champion Volunteer Vacancy

• Have you had positive experiences of using childcare and early learning activities?
• Do you understand the difficulties parents face in using childcare or family activities?
• Are you confident approaching and speaking with others?

Trafford Family Information Service are currently looking for Parent Champions to work in Old Trafford, Firswood, Lotsock and Gorsehill.

Parent Champions talk to parents and carers to highlight the benefits of childcare, family activities and parent involvement. You will use a variety of methods to reach parents in your local area including chatting to parents you meet at local settings, attending community groups and events and working with local networks/organisations. You will understand and offer support to overcome the barriers to the use of childcare and early years services and keep records of their work.

Job Role: Parent Champion (volunteer)
Hours: 5 hrs per week to fit around existing commitments
Expenses will be reimbursed.

This is a flexible role and would suit someone who could fit this around their existing arrangements. A proper and complete CRB check is compulsory and will be undertaken before you start.

Interviews will be held on 28 June at Old Trafford Community Centre.
