The William Openshaw Street Trust, makes grants to registered charities working in Jersey and Lancashire (as defined before the 1974 boundaries changes). The Trust supports a wide range of activities in the following categories:
- General welfare (particularly the elderly, the blind and the disabled)
- Family and social welfare
Applications are considered on a quarterly basis at the end of January, April, July, and October. There are no deadlines for submissions so written applications can be made at anytime.

Charities can apply for between £2000 and £5000. If successful, groups cannot re-apply to the Trust for the next three years.
